amazing, its barely out and it already surpassed orders (firm and option) of Sukhoi and bombardier in one fell swoop!
a bit saddening with all the efforts those two companies put in.. only to be beaten by the jet that wants to tango.

You are comparing two new designs to an iteration on an existing design.

Furthermore, you are comparing the existing design getting orders off traditional customers to two manufacturers who the target airlines may not have had many previous dealings with. Therefore, they will be more cautious and wait till service entry and feedback prior to jumping on board.

I'm not sure on the long-term prospects of the superjet, but I am pretty confident the CSeries will be a money earner for BA.

Those order is solely related to new geared turbo fan engine offered on Embarer combined with quickly assembly from imported parts.
Sukhoi Super Jet is dfferent kind of programe more oreinted towards creating industrial supply chain than speed of assembly.

Firstly the firm orders are ALL for E-175.. which is not expected to be delivered until 2020. No firm ordered for E190 or 195 E2. So of those 200 are all regional planes that will start delivery in 2020. Project schedule for E190 and 195 seem very suspect based on delivery and cert of their engines. (modded versions need to be built, tested and certificated). I would expect a failrly large CRJ order as there is no way Skywest is going to hang on to their 50 seaters that long and they will need to start dumping them much earlier then that. CRJ900 is the only available plane that has the efficiency today to match the MRJ or E-175 E2.

Right, Superjet should really step in with a lease deal until they can be replaced by E-Jet NEO.
