A Late Quartet - superb! Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christopher Walken. The subject matter might seem dry but the direction, acting and writing is first class.

WAR HORSE

Spielberg's First World War epic about a boy and his beloved horse. Epic in every way, and still tear-inducing after the 12th time!

Hansel and Gretal Witch Hunters
Enjoyable romp with the grown up siblings hunting and killing witches. Worth it just to see Gemma Arterton in Kick-Ass leather yum yum. 7/10

Both pass a couple of hours of mindless entertainment.

yep saw that the other night, and worked for me in the same way!

The Grey

Liam Neeson kicking wolf ass in the wilderness. Great movie.

The Horde

It's The Raid meets Dawn of the Dead, in French. Quite gruesome, but not a lot else.

Fast and furious 6. Not anywhere near as good as the other 5.I would give it a 5/10.
Jason Statham will be in the next one. Now that should liven things up.

If you are going to see a comedy, do not go.

Inside

French horror film. A pregnant woman is harassed by a psychotic lady who demands she hand over her unborn child. A lot of gruesome deaths, not a lot of story.

Taken 2

More of the same from Liam "Mr Kick Ass" Neeson. Pretty decent, although the first one is still much better.

Slumdog Millionaire

Danny Boyle's cracking drama about a young Indian boy who miraculously manages to get all the way to the top of India's version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Is he cheating, or is he the genuine article? Great film.

It could be that The Strangers is a semi-remake of Them??

Probably another instance of Hollywood re-making for the home audience as in "The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo"
I shall have to watch Them and compare.

Point Break

Keanu Reeves infiltrates a group of bank-robbing surfers. Still a cracking movie!

Predator

Arnie's classic sci-fi actioner.

The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum

Matt Damon kicking ass while trying to regain his memory of his previous life.

Gremlins

Classic 1980s comedy-horror about a small town invaded by little green monsters hell-bent on mayhem. Still great fun!

A Good Day to Die Hard

More ass-kickery from Mr John McClane. This time he heads to Russia to help out his son, who seems to have caused a slight diplomatic incident in Moscow.

However, despite being a little bit harder compared to the previous entry, I have to wonder what the point was....

Moulin Rouge!

Baz Luhrmann's cracking musical on Blu-ray.

Aliens

James Cameron's awesome follow-up to the sci-fi classic, also on Blu-ray.

World War Z
Brad Pit running away from Zombies, randomly flying to countries for no apparent reason and then attacks a drinks machine. All with no blood or gore?
Utter rubbish.

p.s. Note the Mountain Dew in the drinks machine then contemplate the country he is in. Continuity error.
