Yesterday I received this by mail, a good conclusion for their well-known 'Across America' trip ..., & a good introduction for the (incredible..) future ;

Dear Supporter,

The Solar Impulse team is back in Switzerland and will soon to be joined by the solar airplane. Its arrival in Dübendorf at the beginning of August will officially mark the conclusion of the 2013 Across America mission – an epic coast-to-coast crossing, West to East, to promote the adoption of clean technologies and innovation.

This incredible journey in the land of aviation pioneers would not have been possible without you and your support. You are the heart and soul of the project.

Watch the “Best Of” video summarizing this summer’s adventure from start to finish.
Relive every leg of the mission, including blogs, photos, videos and detailed flight graphs, check out each of the Across America stopover cities’ pages (San Francisco, Phoenix, Dallas, St. Louis, Washington D.C. and New York City).
Don’t miss you chance to get the limited edition 2013 Across America collector’s badge!
Follow the construction of HB-SIB, our second generation solar airplane.
Although this year’s mission has come to an end, Solar Impulse has not! It will be an exciting year as the HB-SIB nears completion. The new solar airplane is planned to be fully built by the end of this year and the first test flights will take place in the spring of 2014. HB-SIB will be the one to undertake the ultimate challenge of circumnavigating the globe in 2015.

The entire Solar Impulse team thanks you for your valuable support and for sharing the dream with us: together we made it happen!

We wish you all a wonderful summer,

The Solar Impulse Team

it seems one cannot open here the video, nor the other URL's... if you want so, I can send this to your mail-address..

friendly, Etienne

This incredible journey in the land of aviation pioneers

I find this statement incredibly disingenuous.
Europe and Canada has also contributed greatly to aviation, in peace as well as war, especially in the face of some challenging regulatory and financial obstacles.
