Good Analysis

Kervyn - my compliments - very good analysis in such a short time - you must be a big enthusiast :eagerness: like me

I have been informed by AFM in another forum that the misisng country roundels is due to "no aircraft" in those countries

Can you point out what is wrong with the roundels of ; Angola, Seychelles, Monténégro ?

COMMENTS/ "no aircraft" ?

I have been informed by AFM in another forum that the misisng country roundels is due to "no aircraft" in those countries

Well...:D it's NOT really true ;

..........................................Swaziland ;..................... Comores Air Wing ; (& also airliners.net # 0700889)

.....................................................................Gambia Su-25 (& other ones) ;

..................................................................... Liberia ; http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Liberian_Air_Force_Roundel.svg (i have a good 'paper' pic of a Cessna 208 with that marking: on request )

see on airliners.net for the other missing ones ; Iceland Coast Guard ; # 1548527 ( + many other ones)

.................................................................; Luxemburg ; (oldie !); # 2282709
.................................................................................& Lux/NATO ; # 2090653

...................................the newest country ; South Sudan ,; see post # 165 in ;http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?116842-Small-Air-Forces-Thread-15/page6

I've made an error in my post # 18, sorry ; I counted twice 'Liberia'.... ( Liberia WAS a 'mini' A/F...)

Yes, Krishna, I'm also a big enthusiast ..

Kervyn and Gerard - you've been very helpful - many thanks

one more query - did the Tamil Tigers (LTTE) have any airforce roundels - been unable to locate this - this is one more to add to historic A/F list

TAMIL TIGERS

at first, I have to tell they NOT were/are a real country... (as for Abkhazia...)

indeed, they had some Zlin-143's... but without markings;( i've found only wreck views in camo-schemes...)

Thanks Kervyn = i thought as much that there was no logo

In my recent trip to the famous Waterstones in London - found a very nostalgic book - Big Book of Flight

http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/0593070313/ref=cm_cr_dp_see_all_btm?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

it had 4 pages on defunct roundels which was quite interesting - Perhaps Gerard will expand his excellent web cite and put more text into it

Sorry, Krishna, but I don't succeed to open the URL of your book :apologetic:

In Gerard' website, you also have an interesting page of such ones , ; click on the last § in the title ; 'oud' (=old)

and in THE wikipedia list ;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_air_forces#Former_countries_and_movements

friendly, Etienne

The new Website will look like this: http://www.drareg.nl/ROTWweb/index.html
see "last update " for tje pages which are uploaded. It will take a very long time to complete it all. Sorry for that.

Sierra Leone... (post 158 in Small A/F thread #16..)

One more 'historic' A/F ???

Sierra Leone ....
thanks for your pics, Greg...
their Puma seems to be a military one, BUT when was taken that picture ? (photo # 220109... in which site ??)

I'm afraid the SLAF is now an HISTORIC one ; found in Wikipedia (last modified on 25 May 2013) :

The Republic of Sierra Leone Air Force was merged with the other services to form the RSL Armed Forces from 2002. Sierra Leone has a very small air component with a limited offensive capability. The status of its equipment is unknown, but the aircraft are not operable

to deduct from THE AFM poster ??:apologetic: ??

meanwhile..... see the post # 164 ! with thanks to Archangelski...!

and post # 168 !!!!!

Hi Etienne

just heard that the new version of John Cochrane's book on Roundels of the world will be released as a single volume by Crecy instead of the split 2 volume planned

Thanks for the info !! ,.............. and ;

But my main 'roundel' problem was - & remains - 'a' Chad one !! see posts 757 & 768 in :http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?125091-Small-Air-Forces-Thread-16/page26

friendly, Etienne

with the Chad roundel the blue part is facing the fuselage, The Czech roundel, the blue is facing forward.

I did a color corection on the pic and its realy yellow (The Herc in the background is white!), the blue facing the fuselage so it Chad alright
