-Nige's "romp home" will surprise absolutely no one - in fact if he doesn't romp home it will be a minor disaster for UKIP. So any comments have long ago been factored in. Just as long as they all get it off their chests now, when it doesn't matter a flying fig.

-Charlie, the 'flying fig' comes later. Now it is the seed that counts.

-Even IF he does romp home in this there's no chance of anything in the general election.Oh John, there's no such person as Red Ed, Ed has little to do with the labour and working class,he is as Tory as that cheating lying lot.

-A yes vote in Scotland should upset any calculations nicely!
But the beer swilling fag smoker has no policies, John - least none which add up. Great bloke and all that - solid on Europe but not much else.

-I am hoping, for the sake of humanity, that the majority of voters don't decide that the far right is the answer to the UK's problems.

-Why is UKIP 'far right'?
I would have thought that the desire to leave the EU appealed across the whole voting spectrum?

-I'm looking forward to having a Euro MP who doesn't like Europe!

That's the problem, people seem to fail to realise that leaving the EU isn't the only thing ukip stand for, and there are plenty of other parties that wan't to hold an EU referendum that are less bigoted. In my opinion the whole party is a bunch of scum bags, but I don't expect many people on this forum to agree with me and this has been discussed in the other ukip thread anyway.
don't forget , my generation is the one that'll have to pic up the pieces if a party like that started running things and the uk falls apart.

Don't worry, Matt, there's not the remotest chance of that happening. By the time you get to my age it'll be much the same as it was when I was your age and indeed when my father was your age.....

That sentiment sounds familiar. Ah yes, our generation will be the ones paying for Labours spending spree when in power, for the rest of our lives.

I've been surprised myself by the utter deluge of political pamphlets, advocating leaving the EU, that have graced my doormat (and shortly thereafter my recycling bin)...
...I think that in 'the trade' that is known as the 'pushing against the open door party'!!!
I'm reminded of the end of my favourite 'Ripping Yarns' when a new school-bully is elected on the promise that he will dismantle the whole bullying / fagging system from the inside...
...of course, the change would have to be made gradually!!! ;)
"Call me School Bully.....you oily little tick!"

Or, worse still, the 'far left' !

-Not only is Nigel beckoning, he's also now smiling rather seductively ! And no wonder. I reckon that the odds have shortened considerably on UKIP's General Election chances !
What say you Charlie ?
By: 23rd May 2014 at 13:11 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-The odds might well shorten but that would be a misguided view I would say - obviously. I think yesterday's elections will prove just as irrelevant to the general election as they always have. Anyone know the turnout figures yet? Let me guess - 25% for the MEPs and 35% for the locals. Well, that's a resounding vote for democracy isn't it..? So MEPs elected by a tiny percentage of the electorate to a non-democratic proto-federal cabal. And by a slightly higher percentage of their electorates local councillors elected on the basis of national prejudices rather than local community needs.
A farce? Watching the media getting all worked up about it certainly is very amusing.

-No, but I doubt its legs will carry it beyond the end of the year. And don't forget the "elephant in the room". The Scottish vote in September.......
By: 23rd May 2014 at 23:00 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-On BBC North West News watched a nice shiny new UKIP councillor being interviewed, his response to " what policies he brought to the council" resulted in a lengthy silence, a couple of false starts then finally "we want to bring a level playing field to local politics" I hope those who elected him found him as funny as I did.
Frankly he gave the impression of someone who shouldn't be allowed out unescorted.

-That does not surprise me in the least. Apart from their two policy headlines they have no coherent policies for national governance let alone local governance. Straw men all!

If not for Queen & Country then, for country, your family and yourself. The 'fruitcakes', 'closet rascists' and 'loonies' deserve to have a go at running the country - ultimately.
They cannot be worse than the bunch now running things with Red Ed waiting in the wings. I can't wait to hear Dave C's comments when Nigel romps home. Word has it that Nigel even likes grammar schools ! That's a bit radical.
