-Really interesting. Thanks for posting. What is the Skyraider doing there? Did the SAAF use them at some stage. Loved the sunshine as well!

-Super Frelon. It was filled with a kids party, tables and all.
This list will help:

-The Skyraider was recovered from memory from another African country (believe ex French) - of no significance to museum. I think it was in a Flypast circa mid 1984.

-The museum list shows it as ex French Air Force as you suggest. Perhaps it was "liberated" after one of the all too prevalent African civil wars.

-Weren't some ex-French Skyraiders also recovered from Chad?

-Nice pics thanks for sharing, the Shack looks like it is still very well cared for.
ISTR that the Skyraider was ex Chad.
WL747 raises a good point, it would be great to have 'nice', 'thanks' or 'like' button on this forum (as others do), I feel with some of the photo threads that people are interested enough to look but not add comment.

BuAer No 127894, which Bauger's site asys:
127894 (c/n 7909) to French AF as No. 68, sold in USA, registered Jan 1977
to J. Spanich of Detroit, MI as N92072.
Deregitered by the FAA earlier this year:

But seems to have been in SA for a long time

-Hi Folks - just an update to mention that all the above aircraft are now under cover.
The Skyraider has now left the museum and moved on to Rand Airport where the talk is that restoration will begin in due course.
The Super Frelon helicopter will most probably be given a makeover.
The Shackleton will also be repainted.
The Spitfire Mk9e is about to undergo restoration to static level.

-Thanks alfaman, good to hear the Mk9 Spit is being rebuilt, pity it is only to static though.
