-If the reports are accurate one wonders why it took a few days for the complaint to be made....if it was so serious.
Accusation with hindsight perhaps......
If this is the end of Top Gear as was I doubt we will have heard the last of Ckarkson. Sorry Moggy!!;)

Unfortunately I agree. Bigoted motormouth. He might not be so obnoxious if he bothered to engage brain before opening mouth.

-Another! Ah well Mike hope you won't be disappointed!;) Fortunately he's good at engaging when he wants to but most of the reported disengagement is overblown and overhyped by the media who revel in it.

Are we talking about Clarkson or Moggy?:D

-Suspended following a fracas? Was that a Renault Fracas?
I get the whiff of him being done up like a kipper by some PC leftie member of BBC staff.
"He might not be so obnoxious if he bothered to engage brain before opening mouth" - I expect his brain is fully engaged - he just prefers to not tow the PC party line and I suspect he enjoys poking them at every opportunity...
Oh well, it's either watching Timothy West taking Prunella up some canal, Angelie Jolie running around in a pair of shorts and a vest (again!), some talentless wannabees listening to some singers or yawn, Family Fortunes...

BTW: Tell May to get a haircut...the 80s are over...and he's far too old to look like that.

You tell him; thankfully Hollywood's obsession with "prettiness" hasn't completely taken over, here, and we concentrate more on the content of what presenters say, rather than how they look.

-A rarely watch the programme, but on the odd occasion I have, James May seems to stand out as the only
one with a bit of common sense.

-That's his part, Alan. It's an entertainment programme in which the three presenters act out charicatures of themselves for the viewers, of whom there are many millions wordwide. The problem is when is taken seriously. Eight or nine million watch it in the UK so several million more do not. About the same for big soaps I guess. And the off button is there for all.

-Once again the BBC seems to have completely overreacted, or misjudged the public mood. Either that or this is the only way the BBC feel that they can control Jeremy Clarkson; airing its dirty laundry in public over what should be an entirely internal matter and one that should not affect the public adversely in any way. Who is being punished here; Jeremy Clarkson or the viewers that watch his show?
Or is the BBC completely staffed by 'drama queens'? I know that 'reality television' is very popular but I think we need to remember who is paid to be 'on screen' and who isn't!
I'm already sick to death of the media coverage. Consider this: British TV, a 'fracas', French TV, ten people killed in a collision between two helicopters; I bet I know which one will cause more 'drama'!

I'd sooner watch a bit of Hollywood glamour than listen to James May.

-Cap'n Slow makes some interesting programmes outside the world of the 3 Amigos - maybe not pleasant on the eye but certainly more likely to get the grey matter working than some empty headed "star"...

-Close to 300,000 now.
Exactly CD - but the BBC is so terrified of criticsm that it grovels when it gets one complaint from the public let alone a few hundred. In this case clearly it was an internal matter which appears to have taken several days to have have been lodged as a complaint so we can assume some monkey business somewhere.
If the show is axed the BBC's revenue, and therefore the license payers, will be the losers as all BBC commercial income subsidises the License Fee - Clarkson and the others will reappear doing something similar somewhere else.

He does indeed, and Hammond makes very good middle market entertainingly informative programmes often geared towards children and Clarkson has made two if not three very good WW2 documentaries.

Agreed. Those that like Jeremy Clarkson / Top Gear will have no problem that he punched (?) a producer; it isn't rape or child abuse so no problem (unless the producer is a woman?)
Top Gear on the BBC without Clarkson (and possible Richard Hammond and James May) would be a total flop whereas '**** the BBC.....Gear' on ITV with Clarkson, Hammond and May would be a total success; sure, the BBC 'owns' the format but how can you own 'comedy driving about in cars'? And will the BBC be stupid enough to take ITV or Clarkson to court over it? Actually, probably.

More contoversy, does the programme need any more uplifting?
