A change of transport from the norm on here! A few pics from a recent visit to the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond in Fife http://www.svbm.org.uk/. Based at a former Royal Navy Stores Depot site which is still fairly intact and very extensive.
The exhibits are obviously well looked after with the intention of having them all up and running and the staff were happy to chat about the goings-on there and let us have a closer look at the vehicles undergoing restoration.

At the far end of the site is Shed 47 http://www.shed47.org/ and part of the old railway which ran around the Stores Depot -

Some fabulous old machinery there.

I am sure we can forgive the lack of wings this once.

I've been up that way so often to Knockhill racing circuit I can't believe I haven't popped in there at some point.

Thanks Moggy - at least I sneaked a Heinkel in :)

It's so close ( maybe just a couple of miles) we could easily hear the action from the race track!

Here you go, Baz. Expect some of these have plied their trade in or around Fife at some time -

Love the old 29 seat Bedford (the pale blue one registered SS7501). I used to go to school on one of those.

Yes Paul. Scotland has some very good collections of old machinery. They seem to make a point of collecting unusual types and keeping them in fantastic condition up there.

Thanks for the replies - yes, it certainly is an interesting collection well worth a visit and the dedication of the team who look after the vehicles is quite obvious. While the location is a little out of the way the site itself is fantastic - loads of space; large sheds; a really extensive site which I'm sure they make the most of on special event days (of which there are quite a few throughout the summer). It was also nice to hear that they seem to have a good relationship with Stagecoach boss Brian Soutar.
