Hi TT,
Looked through my lists and only aircraft that uses tyre size of:- 32"x8.8" is the Brittannia 200. And that Dunlop wheel part No is:- AH 50151.
Other Brits used nose wheel sizes varying from 32" to 35". It certainly looks that era of wheel ( 3 Piece Flange and should be tubeless. ) Somewhere I have a CD of Brittannia Spares Lists, but don't think it is the 200 series. I'll post back here if anything apply's anyhow.

Thanks for your suggestion Trolly - I looked at Devon and Heron but nothing tied up. It remains unidentified at present though Bills Britannia punt seems a good contender

Dunlop's own aircraft tyre website seems to back the Britannia suggestion -
http://www.dunlopaircrafttyres.com/products/size-search.aspx
If you put the size ( I just put 32 cos it didn't work with 32x8.8) in the search box then click Select beside the Britannia, you get a lot of other info.

The RAF Brit 253 appears (from a poor copy of the aircrew manual to an unknown amendment state) to have had a nose wheel AH50916 Ref 27A/3951, with a tyre Type DC 7666T Ref 27A3975 dimpled tread, Nylon, 12 ply 32 x 8.8-16 in

Thank you chaps - tad embarrassed that I didn't try the Dunlop site first as it's not long since I used it to ID another tyre. .oops! So we're at a point where the tyre is certainly of the type fitted to Britannia 200 series but the rim which is definitely an AH40xxx would seem to remain a wildcard. I'll do some work on the stamp and report back.

Evening all
Having established I am not in possession of a Vulcan nosewheel, I wonder if anyone can assist in nailing an ID with the following numbers?
Rim appears to be AH40041 (badly stamped so hard to be sure)
Tyre: Dunlop DR76671 dated May 71
Sec/Ref 27A/3975
32x8.8 so fairly chunky. Outwardly similar to Canberra nosewheel but significantly larger.
All I have established is that it is not listed in my AP104H Tyres and Tubes AP (3rd Edition Jan 2000) as either current or historic though Shackleton is not listed so am wondering about Shack nose in lieu of any other ideas.
I'm a computer free household with a tiny mobile for internet access so I'm unable to post photos at present.
