This is a message from TBAG, the team that keep buccaneers XX894 and XW544 alive at Bruntingthorpe.

We have the opportunity to be able to buy some brand new tyres for our aircraft. In light of XX894 blowing a tyre during the practice run for the May open day and us running low on spares (we have one full spare set per aircraft at the moment) we're trying to take an opportunity to buy some brand new ones. Only problem is that they are £1700 each! Quite a hefty price but without this then our girls won't be able to run! These tyres are not produced anymore so this will be a one off batch. There are no spares anywhere so this is our only option. The more money we raise the more tyres we can buy! If anybody is willing to donate any money large or small to be able to help us raise this cash then it would be very much appreciated! We'll keep you updated with a running total. We all love seeing these girls pirouetting around the runway! We are coming up with other ideas on how to raise money but any donation would be great!

All you need to do is PayPal cash over to thebuccaneeraviationgroup@gmail.com. If you wish to donate in any other way then please don't hesitate to get in touch! We know that every project on here is short of cash, but we have a few weeks to raise the money to buy as many tyres as possible to ensure that 894 and 544 continue for years to come.

Here is a description of 894's tyre incident.

Thank you very much. We hope this is alright to post here. We would not if it weren't urgent.

Or if anyone happens to have a spare buccaneer tyre they could part with that would be even better.

What size are the tyres, Sven? I don't suppose they are the same as Phantom (whatever that is) are they?

Edit, the part number is Dunlop DR0325T. As far as I know they are only common to the Sea Vixen and are about three and a half feet in diameter.

We have received some more donations today from the Fleet Air Arm Buccaneer Association and the Buccaneer Aircrew Association boosting us up to just over £1000.
Well on the way to our goal of a pair !

Once again thank you to everyone who has donated so far it warms the heart to know you all want to see the Buccaneers continue to carry out taxi runs in the future.
