There are unconfirmed rumours on the Grace Spitfire Facebook page that Seafire mkiii flew today, congratulations in order if that is the case.

I'd be absolutely delighted if it were the case. There has been no more protracted rebuild in recent years, and the poor thing has been to just about everyone with an interest.

I kept a 'weather' eye on it whilst it was in Norfolk. With the care of Richard Grace, it should now be a good aeroplane. Kudos to him, and respect to the owners.

A link to the page might have been nice (I know some can't open them)

I am advised a successful test flight was made late yesterday, Monday.

That's great news. Nice to go from rumours that the restoration is complete to confirmation of first post restoration flight in 2 days.

Working on Bentwaters Parks has some advantages. I was lucky enough to witness ML407 and the Seafire taking off in short order on Wednesday afternoon and a further flight yesterday from the Seafire, the noise was fantastic. Due to restrictions here the rest takes place at high altitude or away from the local villages so I'm not going to get a sneak preview of the Flying Legends display!

Unfortunately photos aren't easy as I'm behind a chain link fence on the wrong side of the airfield.

Well done to all involved.

Lets hope there are no snags or paper work issues and she makes it to Legends.

It really is wonderful news, although I'm in the wrong part of the world to appreciate it in person. Bring on Legends (coverage)! And well done to everyone involved, this is a stunning machine.
