A picture of the Airbus H-160 published in TakeOff mag as posted in the RuAF thread raised my attention.
We have been discussing the weird idea to integrate a F1 like mustache on the rear boom of that design, what I suspect was more a "Designer" input than that of an Engineer.
On this picture we can see that Airbus now face troubles with this. X crossed variable geometry* struts (1) are now bracing the lower lip of the spoiler replacing the small vertical fins that were there before. Also what seems Heavy fixations (2) are placed on the outboard vertical section to mitigate delamination.

Vibrations mode and resonance might be the cause of the trouble (hence the variable bracing to find a convenient AoA of this incredibly weird thingy).
Here is another view (other side).
1: pivot link
2. extensible strut
3. cmd ctrl or fluid input

Last but not least, I'll let the reader meditate on the next pic:

Notice also (again) that the prototype seems to have discarded the hacken-cross rotor...

A single Ka-52 has appeared at Ain Oussera AFB in Algeria on Thursday, 17-Sep. Two days later the eval trials have commenced, esp. night flying.
The machine is a factory fresh White #75, two tone camo.. Similar to this one...
I fail to see a planed strategy in it. So they will buy the Alligator (finally a well chosen name for the theater) and then, not one but two Mistrals with nothing else that those aircraft to operate from.. No SAR, no replenishing helo, no maritime or air surveillance vectors, nothing?
I fear the worst. So far there is no planed cohesion, no such budget, no experience of operating such complex system. Do they even have the smaller landing craft etc ?
It looks very much like a pavillon of complaisance and another dark episode in the Mistral saga.

Egypt is still negotiating the acquisition of NH-90 helicopters. Maybe they'll double down on that?

Yeah as far as priorities this seems to be an even worse decision for Egypt than it was for Russia.
Nice present in the form of the Ka-52 order though.
