-Little information available yet. It would appear to be a weather related accident and Dunkeswell is the highest licensed airfield in the UK.

-All the occupants are believed to be from the same family. From the Mirror photos, does this impact look like a flat spin event?

Going to be filed as 'pilot error'!

-Any autopsy reports? Could be the pilot was incapacitated and someone else tried to fly the plane.

It looks like a combination of a complex aircraft with the pilot a little behind it and who was also pushing his luck in marginal weather on a home-made 'instrument' approach to a field with no procedure.
He had health issues but they are not seen as a factor.
All very sad.

-Is it my imagination or, is 2016 a rather more than bad year for GA fatalities ?
By: 14th November 2016 at 19:02 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-And the relevance of that when talking of a 2015 accident is?
That apart, I haven't been conscious of it being a particularly bad year, no.

-Nevertheless, the Dunkeswell one was a particularly bad one as it was wholly avoidable. And bad enough to kill yourself by trying to cheat the odds, but to take your entire family with you is pretty unthinkable.
