I saw a US Airforce KC-10 Extender and two KC-135's at Stansted today and was curious to know why they are there. Anyone?

Thanks,

Rob

According to 'Fighter Control' - weather diversions - xwind in excess of 25kts.

Thanks for the replies.

Baz - ah that would explain it :). I wasn't complaining as I haven't seen them there before and it made my day when I realised it was a KC-135 coming in on finals.

Edit; I think the KC-10 left this morning as one flew over Duxford fairly low about half an hour ago heading Mildenhalls way.

Yes, they were weather diversions. The KC-10 circled Mildenhall a few times before diverting.
