The most beautiful videos about Mirage 2k come from the movie "Les chevaliers du ciel" (Sky Fighters), the air shooting are amazing (i think they took a M2k with a modified EFT with cinema cameras inside it).

The Mirage 2K N ended its service among the FAS (French strategic forces ) this week:
---------
[on the 26th of June], the Mirage 2000N bowed out of the BA 125 Istres (13) and with him, symbolically somewhere, a generation of airmen on the occasion of this "retirement" of a machine that has provided 30 years of service in the Strategic Air Force (SAF).
Some thirty aircraft put into service at the latest K3 standard, twenty operational in 2015 that will leave their place in the Rafale, "this withdrawal will be progressive, since it will remain operational until the return

On top of my head, and rough numbers, that'd be around 20x 2000C (QRA/OCU/misc.), 7x 2000B (OCU), 25x 2000-5F (air sup./QRA), 75x 2000D (strike/ground attack). Some of them may be in storage.
The -5Fs will be around for a bit less than a decade I believe, the Ds probably past 2030 (numbers to be reduced to 55 after MLU). The B/C will be around as long as the two previous are.

Best source on Mirage 2000D "in the cockpit" is the book "La Guerre Vue du Ciel" from LCL Schaeffler. Pretty sure he would accept to sell rigths for english version for a reasonable price btw.

Does anyone know what Mirage-2000 variant it is that the French are selling to the IAF? 2 of them are to be sold to the IAF and my guess was that they would trainers since the IAF lost 2 trainers in 2012-13 in crashes. These 2 would then be upgraded using the kits that were ordered prior to the 2 crashes.
