-I believe it maybe Bolingbroke 10038, which was the aircraft the crashed at Denham and IIRC was under restoration for the IWM as mentioned in the link below.

-2 were brought over from Canada, this a/c was restored to fly and crashed just weeks after on Denham Golf course, 1987... parts were used to restore the gorgeous one which now flies as a MK1
this a/c was sold to the IWM who started restoring it to static, sadly some fool decided it does not fit in with the collecting policy and in store she remains. I wish she could go to East Kirkby.

Does that mean the fuselage could not be used in a second airworthy build then ? Would be nice to see two different Mk's flying together...:love-struck:

-There were two Bolingbrokes imported by Ormond HB before his untimely demise. One was damaged in transit. The better of the two was rebuilt as MKIV -only to be damaged at Denham.
Another was sourced from Strathallen and this forms the example that is now BPIV. The lesser of the first two forms the basis of the IWM static whilst big parts of MKIV have gone to Hawkinge to
form a static there.

-Hawkinge got a Bolingbroke cockpit from Canada a few weeks ago.

-The Blenheim fuselage and the newly acquired MKIV cockpit are now currently on show at the Hawkinge museum, then i believe it will be going back inside for its continued Winter restoration.
The wings and cockpit are temporary in place throughout the 2018 season.
For anyone who hasnt as yet seen it its an absolute must before the seasons out.

-Only official photos exist. You are not allowed to take cameras or mobile phones into Hawkinge at all.

-The Mk4 nose from BPIV is still there. It's complete, but still with some minor crash damage. There was a suggestion that BPIV could be rebuilt as a "Mk4" at some stage, but this is probably unlikely now, given the popularity of it as a Mk1. Would love to see a Mk4 fly again though. A "desert camouflage" bomber would be nice to go with the BoB Mk1.

-After the colossal effort to convert her into an early variant, I cannot see them putting the Blenheim back into a MKIV. There is no other example of an early Blenheim anywhere, where as there are several Bolingbrookes.

Hello all, after a vist to Duxford today i have left puzzeled. In a building north of Hangar 4, opposite it on the other side of the road, is a storage facility. Through the window you can clearly see the fueslage of a yellow blenheim, from rudder to just behind cockpit, couldnt see a cockpit in there. Any help on what this Blenheim’s serial is would be appriciated.
