The second...

"It is a historical test for Europe" Angela Merkel

Its stupidity like this that just might have something to do with the backlash running through Western Countries against their democratic elected ministers, whose job it is to the Nation State safe...

So after 60 years later are western countries people safer at home than they were in the 50's?

And perhaps it's a reason why over 50% of the electorate thought to themselves, amongst other things, that we might be better if we and our Children & Grand Children were out side of the fence looking in rather than stood the other side looking out...

Washington Post? I think they should concentrate on their home territory where there is far worse terrorism, that of white American on white American, tens of thousands of deaths a year.

'Such smart uniforms,' said Sergeant Wilson who was fond of observing of the Nazis in the Dad's Army series. 'Blind obedience, Wilson,' said Captain Mainwaring...

Perhaps this is why the 'Remainers' are so happy to be in the EU, under the boot of their authoritarian masters, lacking the spunk to be outside the box as are we the Brexiteers!

Ah, dear Kevin my boy, shame you didn't put down how many lives are saved by legal gun owners...

See here...

The numbers of defensive gun uses (DGUs) each year is controversial. But one study ordered by the CDC and conducted by The National Academies’ Institute of Medicine and National Research Council reported that, “Defensive use of guns by crime victims is a common occurrence”:
Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million, in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008.

Another study estimates there are 1,029,615 DGUs per year “for self-protection or for the protection of property at home, work, or elsewhere” excluding “military service, police work, or work as a security guard,” (within the range of the National Academies’ paper), yielding an estimate of 162,000 cases per year where someone “almost certainly would have been killed” if they “had not used a gun for protection.”

(In comparison, there were 11,208 homicide deaths by firearm in the US in 2012. There were a total of 33,636 deaths due to “injury by firearms,” of which the majority were suicides, 21,175.)

He has a point though, further negotiations at this stage are a waste of time and money.

Thing is, when somebody continually lies and shows continual self interest disguised as interest for the “real” people his words are hollow and meaningless.

I think people on both sides can be accused of that.

Whilst they say no Uk Jobs to be lost, it does mean that yet more of the manufacturing is likely to be overseas. 6%of turnover reinvested in the UK. Not exactly generous of the guy who has accepted many millons of EU money.

The UK does not have a monopoly on opportunities though.

That's a slightly more downbeat message from the previous one of brexit generated sunny uplands and business utopia!

Amiga 500 - Basically you (and I) want a return to the pre-1979 system where elected national leaders, or their representatives, are the only people at the table.

"...Cameron says that British football clubs could be excluded from European competitions if we leave..."
He does realise that even Russia is in these competitions?

he Japanese firm will move its European headquarters to the Netherlands to avoid customs issues.
They won't avoid customs issues though, they'll have plenty when they try export their goods to the UK.

There are no job losses as a result of this move though and who knows, they might move back if we lower corporation taxes post Brexit.
