341A crew got motivated & tool off for Goose 5 minutes ago, due in at 10.20pm local time.

Just about to cross the border into Newfoundland/Labrador, roughly 2/3rds distance.

There are twelve Dakotas lined up (more or less ) at DX , but there seem to be no photos on the forums etc actually showing multiple examples in a singe shot. Why, I wonder ?

Maybe because these folks are being considerate and don't want to spoil the surprise? I'm sure all will be revealed in due course, and in any case I appreciate those on the Duxford Diary thread (and here too) who have posted so far. Looks good to me and I doubt it's any sort of conspiracy.

Thanks Duxman, Very atmospheric.

No suspicion of a conspiracy, just surprise that virtually all the coverage shows single aircraft, whilst the 'story' is a mass gathering. I do of course appreciate that the event has not yet started , and next week we should see the full 30 ( or whatever ) all photographed together.

I hope someone can get permission to take some drone footage, as that really is a striking way to record such a gathering.

Route map published by the CAA for 5th June. Note there are two time slots both shown in GMT please add 1 hour for local BST

Two slots?
Is that for weather allowance or are there going to be two seperate formations I wonder?

I was hoping to get the afternoon off to catch it, but no way could I make the earlier slot, so not sure what to do now :apologetic:

My guess would be weather related. But the later afternoon slot is what is published else where.

N18121 just crossing over Stornoway at 10,000 feet and 174 knots

Think C-GAWI is being ferried across to carry out survey work somewhere in Asia.

Surely worth them making a detour for a few days? It would be great to see a Basler in among the round engines.

That would be like having one of those rarely (if ever) seen "Spitfire jets", the media often mentions, at Legends!...
