-Forty one people died from what I understand. May they RIP. The Superjet has been struggling on the world market. This could be really bad news for them depending on what investigators find.

-Sad news. I think they were a bit reticent about announcing the number of deaths unless my news sources are slower whilst travelling.

-Update on this - and a possible explanation for the fiery crash being ruptured wing fuel tanks due to stresses on landing gear struts.

-I found this - an article over a month old now - but it seems like the incident has been mostly put together. What caused the controls failure is still unresolved but the SSJs instrumentation seems to have done its job in providing warnings to the pilot and the plane is actually built pretty tough. There's definitely flight crew errors involved in this crash.
So it doesn't look like a MAX disaster for Sukhoi, but at the same time SCAC can't weather things the way Boeing can.

Notice in one of the videos, pax had exited with their baggage, and according to Avherald, there may be more than one fatality. So how would those pax feel knowing that they might have caused the deaths of others because they wasted time to get their baggage?
