-After The Battle magazine. They have published 2 books about D Day with then and now photo's. The 2 volumes cover all the history, a really good read.

I've been reading `The Longest Day` by Cornelius Ryan and while a good easy read doesn't sit well with me regarding factual information.
Can anyone recommend good books on the subject? I'm particularly interested in the aviation aspect of D-Day as well as the ground offensive.
Books I'm not keen on are ones dripping with the minutia of unit designations and irrelevant back stories.
An example of a good book for me would be `Target Berlin`.
Over to you :-)
p.s is `The Longest Day` considered a good book on D-Day ?
