I'm told there is another DPAA sponsored recovery of MIA underway in the UK at the moment, in addition to the Stansted B-26. This one is taking place near Arundel in West Sussex and is understood to be a B24. No doubt forumites will be able to fill in the blanks.

I have information that it is a B24 H 42-94825 of the 489 BG from Halesworth that experienced tech problems en route to targets in France on 22 June 1944. Seems there may be up to 3 MIAs. There was a 1974 dig here that found the pilots' armoured seats and charred parachutes but no sign of any human remains. I guess that's why DPAA have assessed it as high priority.

Just a reminder on correct American aircraft designations...
Mission symbol, then hyphen, series number, model (no space).
So B-24H.
