MartynP: Regarding that unidentified grip you have: I suspect "SLAVE" isn't an acronym but refers to slaving (for instance) a targeting radar to the seeker head of a weapon. POL could mean polarization of the radar sensor (vertical v horizontal). FOV as field-of-view makes sense.
Hi Swifter and everyone - thanks for the comments. I have no idea one way or the other. I'm sure it's not a pilots grip, but the acronyms mean nothing to me.

Like many of you, I collect helms. Thanks to your publications, I learned a lot of new and interesting things. For two years I just read. At the moment, I am asking for help. Lockheed Constellation has appeared in my collection and I want to know the functions of these buttons.

For those of you who don’t know, Eugene has a very impressive collection of yokes and Sticks, mainly of Soviet Aircraft , however a few western types are creeping into his collection. In my collection of wheels from Soviet planes there are western ones, but they are few: B-52, B-707, B- 727, B-777, F-227, S-2a, DC-8, A-310, L-1011 (TriStar). Now I have a Lo ckhiid Constellation wheel . Gentlemen, please help me find out the affiliation of these buttons.
Hello Eugen, Front button is ‘Auto Pilot’ . Rear button is ‘Microphone’ This type of yoke was fitted to early Lockheed Neptune and Lockheed Constellation. Although the configuration of buttons on the switches for the Neptune was slightly different, from memory with a ‘Stores Jettison button’ and ‘Trim’ switch, Hope Help this helps.

Hello Eugene. I would like to welcome you to the forum too. I'm responding to some points made about your points made about Lockheed Constellation wheels and switches. The wheel in your photo was (probably) originally installed in a Lockheed P2V-7 Neptune. There are some (minor) configuration differences in the wheel/yoke castings used in the Constellation versus the Neptune. There was some discussion on this forum about this. See page 38.
Also, looking forward to seeing some photos of the Russian/Soviet and other wheels in your collection. Take care.
Hi Eugene, I will take a couple of photos of my connie and Neptune yokes side by side if you like. Unfortunately my Connie yoke is bare, but the Neptune has the switches. I'm in the middle east currently so I'll do it when I'm back home.

Welcome to the forum, flatter99, a shadow of it's former self, but this thread seems to be holding on!
A first purchase of 2020 is this Soviet looking grip. Similar to early Mig 21 but not the same. Does anyone recognise it?
