-AA you are correct, it was a bit of a tongue in cheek as the weather for casters keep saying this storm is a one in ten years event.
That Hangar has taken a bit of flak over the years !

-I believe this roof has been affected before -surely airfield , wind should ring a warning bell.New flashy designs are fine if they work.The cost of shutting the M11 and the A505 until possibly Wednesday must be horrendous.

-I have a theory that the roof is an aerofoil shape and when the wind is in a SSW direction the airflow over the top of the roof acts like a wing and generates lift. Result is the departure of roof panels due to the hold down mechanism not being designed for loads in that direction. My guess at a solution would be a series for baffles to break up the airflow and reduce the lift.
