As with previous years I thought I’d try and populate a new Newark Air Museum (NAM) Briefing thread to use for short updates and news snippets from eastern Nottinghamshire.

As the year progresses I will provide updated details of NAM activities in here!

More regular NAM news updates can also be found in here!

Could a Moderator please lock the 2019 Newark Air Museum Briefingthread?

Something that's been posted elsewhere but that I thought might be of interest to some on here!

"Earlier in the week we became aware of 2 fascinating Pathe News clips featuring Taylor Monoplane G-APRT that is displayed in Hangar 1. They really highlight the ‘homebuilt’ aircraft description!

Different times; enjoy “Plane in a Parlour”!!

Hi Howard,

Just received the tickets for the April 'Table-Top' however, given the current unusual (nay, hysterical), circumstances and Boris's latest dic-tat of 'Avoid all contact with other humans', is NAM still planning to go ahead with the event?

Thanks again for thinking of the Puma project & I will make the rebuild team aware. Not sure that there is a plan around at present to go as far as engine fitment.

To be honest they may be the type of 'luxury' item that the museum will be unable to afford after the virus closure!

These web-pages are likely to become very important quite soon!

Some further information from NAM:

"A while back we produced a Nottinghamshire Aviation Memorials  booklet using funds from a Local Improvement Scheme Grant provided by the Nottinghamshire County Council. Printed copies have all gone but we are still able to email out PDF versions, we thought this might be interest for some people during this current lock-down.

Details about how to request a copy can be found in here: http://newarkairmuseum.org/Notts_Aviation "
