I'm surprised that Key Moderators haven't yet put a sizeable and disapproving boot onto the more than questionable commercial cheating that is now a feature of this forum judged that is, by the number of contributors offering such services.

Advertising commercial essay writing as original work is fraudulent and further devalues our education system - such as it is.  The perception of degrees as largely worthless is re-inforced by this activity.  Forum members, please complain - it is in your own interest.

I complained on Saturday, I think, and at last somebody has had a fairly half-hearted attempt at clearing some of the dross out.

I say half-hearted because there are still 7 instances of spam on the first page alone, and beyond belief, still one in their own Forum Updates section.

Some of it went back months so it's patently obvious that nobody actually cares, and if somebody is supposed to be responsible for it, they're failing miserably.

That would be me making the half-hearted attempt at cleaning the dross out. If I missed anything, please feel free to post any links here and I will get on the case.

Thanks, the last two are gone.

Point taken, the forum isn't a part of my day job so sometimes I take my eye off the ball when things get busy. I will try to keep more of a lookout moving forward. Please feel free to use the ticketing thingy to report anything like this. I am usually quick at cleaning up once I know it's there.

Thank you, although I visit this particular forum so rarely - as does pretty much everybody else it seems - I wouldn't normally know.

However, it does beg the question - if it isn't part of your day job, is it anybody's?

I guess not, which would confirm the generally, although not universally, held opinion that having ruined the forum, Key Publishing don't care about it now.

Fresh off the press to-day and reported in the D. Tel.   All commercial essay writing is to be made illegal.  As a consequence,  fewer 'Mickey Mouse' degrees.  Someone in the Govt. could be scrutinising this forum !

How they go about sorting fact from fiction I can't imagine.  Something called algorithms ?
