Typical, centre it all on Duxford, around which the avaiation world rotates of course...
What we're REALLY missing here is the opportunity for a whole gang of us to converge on Hendon-do you reckon if there are enough of us, we could lift the tail of the Lanc up, kick that perch out from under her arse, and gently lower her down again?!
Then we could all hit the restuarant there to have a plate of...well, something...in celebration...excuse me, I suddenly feel ill...

Well I think a get-together is a fantastic idea...I have a couple of ideas of what we could get up to here, let me check a couple of things and I'll get back to you ;)

I'd be up for it. Particularly if it was at Duxford rather than in London.

Back again :)
Right guys...those of you who are interested in a meet at Duxford, would you be interested in visiting the old cinema and seeing a film...say Battle of Britain?
If you are say "yay" in my direction and I'll see what can be done...no promises here but it could happen...:)

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-10-02 AT 08:53 AM (GMT)]Sounds a good idea to me, provided it's on a week-end. If we're making a night of it, what about 'Target to Night', as well, for those of us who are more into the 'heavies'?

Count me in too, don't care where it is it's just a great oppertunity to meet up and put faces to names. The idea of BoB and Target for Tonight sounds great, perhaps with a guided tour of Duxford courtesy of Ashley?

How about a couple of lesser watched films? I mean, we all know BOB off by heart. Dark Blue World would be good for those of us who couldn't find it being shown locally, but target for tonight sounds like a good idea, maybe that and another oldie?
But yeah, I'm (hopefully - I am married) up for it.

Hi Ashleigh
A big "yeh" in your direction.
BoB on a big screen, just what I was saying in the Dark Blue World thread.

-RE: Forum Getogether?
Well, I am going to see DBW at the Duxford Astra Cinema!!
It's a charity screening of the film in aid of The Mark Hanna Research Fellowship and the price includes all day entry to Duxford.
Seeing as I missed the film when it came out, I accepted the 'invitation' gladly to see it in the old 'Astra', and to help with a good cause.
Anyone else going to this?
But a good idea there Ashley! Will you be wearing the feather boa?...:)

Chaps, chappesses etc....the "You could teach monkeys to fly better than that..." thread got me thinking......dangerous that! Anyone fancy a Forum getogether at Duxford? We could meet up in say January when everyone is looking forward to the return of airshows and the warm days/long evenings.
The mad BoB film enthusiasts could amuse each other with quotations whilst looking at the locations the film was shot on, whilst a dose of Life of Brian could ensue. Chats about aviation etc could occur. Philo could demonstrate his photographic skills....we could have a curry a drink...... Just a thought.
