Got on the hotel shuttle bus at the hotel. Driver asked what airline. Told him BA. There were other people on the bus and as we coming to the airport we passed under a bridge and a BA 744 was coming over it, everyone on the bus saw it. I felt so proud :D .

BA and United share a terminal to themselves at JFK. It is very nice as they have spent a bit of money on it.
Checked in, searched the shops and went and sat at the gate. Watched Concorde land (loud! :p ) and saw it pull up at the gate. It looked tiny next to a 744!

Boarded the flight and had to move seats because someone in front had no deodrant on (they stunk  ). Pulled back and headed for a busy runway - about 40 planes in line!
It was amusing to see a little United prop (Dash, I think  ) behind an Aliatalia 772. We seemed to be the only 744 in the queue of planes, unless there may have been some behind. Finally we lined up, saw Manahtten in the background and off we go!

About 20 secs later, FAs are seated, seat belt signs are on and a woman in the middle block of seats who has an aisle seat stands up and opens her locker   The plane is still climbing!

The FAs shout for her to sit down and she finally does, looking to say 'what, what have I done?'. Captain announces all passengers should remian seated till he turns the seatbelt sign off.

After take-off the IFE came on, first they advertised Club World to us and then showed us ow to relax in flight, then you could use the mutli-channel Omnia system. FAs began drinks, but due to heavy turbulance they had to stop bringing the drinks round on the cart and did it by hand. (They gave everyone extra to ensure that if turb continued we would not run out! :) )

Dinner served - Cajun chicken or Stir-fry. I had the Cajun Chicken. Yummy.

Flight was excellent, FAs very good and plenty more drinks. Had a breakfast with fruit salad, warm bread, yoghurt, fruit juice and nutri-grain type bar.

Went into holding pattern at Heathrow and watched a VS 343 circling below us.

Landed safely.

Conclusion: After superb holiday, a superb flight home. Top marks to the FAs and pilots.

Really, I thought it was loud, you certainly knew it was a special plane :D

P.S. I am part of the Grammatical/Lexical Secret Army, so I will inform you it is quiet, not quite ;)
