Just joined your very interesting forum. With around 350.000 international miles a year, and about 250.000 domestic Norwegian non-counting miles (its forbidden with miles in Norway...), I hope I can contribute something positive to this forum.

You all look like an interesting bunch who definatley share my passion of flight!

Well, today I flew the very exotic ANX-TOS, a 25 minute ride with a Dash 8-100.

Interesting: On all smaller airports, only served by this little 37 seater, they introduced 100% screening from January 1st 2005. To go through security is a nightmare, these rookies without any training are so nervous that they use as much time checking people boarding a Dash 8, as the security blokes at LHR use to check a 777!

Well, the people are friendly at these little airport, and its all for safety, so its OK, of course.

Departing 5 minutes ahead of scedule, a very good looking cabin attendant had 10 minutes to sell 5 $ cans of beer and bread with reindeer meat on it.

Horrible weather, heavy snow, bad visibility and excellent turbulence on all of the approach. Alot of scared people and, of course, a kid who trew up!

On the ground in Tromsø, it was super windy and close to no visibility, I was in luck! The runway closed down for a good while, we were the last plane to land.

I hope this flight was exotic enough for you!

Will join you again for my KKN-OSL on SK on Febuary 2nd, if anything interesting happens, that is.

Viking Cheers from Norway!

Very good, someone knows the Norwegian tundra!

I have to tell you, the last few days on the top Norway has been a complete nightmare!!

The snow storms and slippery runways has given me tons of problems. Flew Sunday TOS-KKN-BJF. Got an hour delay out of TOS, got diverted from KKN to VDS. After refueling, my destination BJF, was the next stop. Well, with 60 knots wind across the runway, that was out of the question. Got diverted to HFT, 30 minutes away by plane, but 800 kilometers around fjords by car!
Had to stay overnight there, had a good pasta, complimentary of Widerøe.

Time to try again in the morning. A little delay, but landed in strong, but ok wind. But when my meeting was over, my flight outta there was, of course, cancelled. That meant a 4 hrs taxi ride to the next town to get me to a plane that could take me to my destination KKN.

Im there now, done working, Just hope they can pick that 737 out of the sky so I can get my a... back to civilization tomorrow!

Weather looks ok now, but keep your fingers crossed for me, guys!
