A bit late posting, but here goes.

Over the holidays I flew from Toronto to London on Air Canada.

Our outbound flight was delayed because the 763 AC had alloted was not ETOPS so we had to wait four for the inbound aircraft from Buenos Aires. Once on board I assumed my upgraded ticket business class seat (my good buddy is an airport manager at YYZ) and settled in for some stellar service and fantastic leg room. The flight was calm and uneventful (thank goodness) and we arrived downwind of Heathrow and landed from the east. The 763 really is a nice plane to fly in. That was my fifth time.

(note seperate entry for flight between LHR and ARL)

The return flight was cramped as we were in cattle class and AC does not yet have the private screens behind the seats, so that was a bit aggrivating, however, the service really was friendly. Not a lot of space though and the woman in front of me could not recline her seat as my knees were in it! (I'm 6'2). We were tenth in line for departure to the west from LHR and the aircraft scenary was stunning. BTW, T3 really bites with exception of new addition which appears to be done in Virgin colours, that was nice. Virgin looks fantastic up close. I'm also a big fan of the 777 upclose, just mamoth.

A bit of drama at T3. I watched a Thai 744 arrive and 14 police officers boarded the plane immeidately.

Arrived in Toronto a bit late (1hr) due to extremely strong head winds over the Atlantic and there wasn't much to see due to low cloud cover over Toronto. Arriving in YYZ is very straight forward if you're landing to the west. There's not that much traffic and the aircraft rarely turns once it's begun its decent.

I rate the AC 763 experience as an aircraft 8/10.
AC service 6.5/10. Sorry guys, get some private screens and more leg room.

I was born in Ireland and now live in Canada. I've been to Dublin many times (via LHR and MAN). Love DUB on my flightsim as well.

Nice report, the drama was not so much a drama, as every flight from the Far East has been getting that treatment since the Tsunami.

Good report. I love seeing drama like that when I arrive at airports....only happened once when an ambulance drove to the plane as well as a cop car.
