Those pics posted earlier of EMA 10yrs ago got me thinking... there's so many types I still want to fly on purely for the experience!

So... whats on your "to do" list and where are you likely to get a flight on these types?

For me (inspired by those EMA pics) it has to be:

Saab 340
The Shed (aka Shorts 360)
Dornier 328 prop
Boeing 777
L1011

Haven't got a clue where I'm gonna get a ride on a SF340 now that Aurigny have all but pulled out the UK, they were quite handy at EMA until recently. Same goes for the Shed.

Maybe ScotAirways might be nice for the DO328, the 777 is fairly easy but the L1011 might prove very difficult to.

If you'd care to share your "to do" list, please post!

Cheers all. :)

Top 3 in order:

1. A380 (When it finally arrives)
2. Let 410-so small, I'd find it a great experience.
3. Tupolev 134.

I would like to fly the Dreamliner when it finally flies, the A380 when it has flown a few times so I can get an idea on what it will be like, I'd also like to fly on a SH-360 as my Dad flew on a Sunshine express Shorts in Australlia and he really enjoyed it!

Maybe a trip to Russia for you then airline owner?!

Everyone seems to want a trip on the A380, I forgot that one. Top deck I'm presuming right???

Given that the only widebody aircraft I can remember flying on is the A330, a flight on any widebody aircraft wouldn't go amiss. ;)

Airbusbaby, your best bet for a Saab 340 has to be Loganair! :)

I don't think so, the booking page on their website just links you back to the main BA page.

Just a few from me at the moment. Firstly, I'd love to go on a prop of any kind, so booking myself onto a flybe. flight and flying on one of their Dash 8-Q400s might be the cheapest option. Secondly, an A340 would be nice. I'd settle for any in the series, but if I'm still as keen for on Hong Kong closer to the Winter as I am at the moment, a ride on a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 might not be out of the question before the year is out.

I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try a Shorts 360 or Russian aircraft (yes, I know they're safe, but they look scary  ).

Obviously the A380 and 787 are on my list, but I would also like to fly on a 747 and believe it or not, a 737 because I've never been on one when it seems nearly everyone else has!

The Q400 looks pretty good, and I should be flying to Dublin on one this summer with flybe.

The Dash 8 Q400 is excellent, I had the pleasure of it when Flybe did BHX-BRU a few years back. Highly recommend a trip on it.

I've also been fortunate enough to get the A340-600 with VS on the way back from Washington, it's truely an awesome aircraft although the take off roll was a bit hair raising thinking "is this ever gonna lift"!

I guess I'm just a turbo-prop freak at heart, they can be so much like a bad roller coaster ride can't they!

I would really like to fly these aircraft:

Airbus A321
Airbus A330
Boeing 747-400

One aircraft I would really love to fly on though (but never will) would be the HS Trident!

A 777 probably has the best cabin architecture of any commercial airliner out there at the moment (as well as some 767/747s which have their cabin based on the T7). It's not amazing, but the celing curves nicely - I'm sure you've seen pictures.

The engines sound good and powerful whey they are thrusted up, but nice and quiet when at cruise level or of course idle for descent. I'm not sure what engines my T7 had - I flew with AA.

I live 5 mins from DUB and I feel stupid that I have only been on 2 737-200s in the last 11 years so I want to do it just one more time.

I hear 757s can be fun (Powerful) Im not a speed freak but I love been stuck to the seat on takeoff and thats somthing the Airbus lacks.

I just wanna get stuck to the back of my chair :D and ideas?

Hi,

DashQ

American Airlines use Roll Royce Trent 892 engines on the 777s.

Top of my list would be the Trislander. Best bet is Aurigny I suppose.....but still quite expensive just for the inter-island flights.

Others include the SH360 and the 1-11. The SH360 just because it's different and the 1-11 because I spent most of my childhood days watching them in and out of STN, longing to be sat next to one of those screeching engines!

Thanks MyTravel UK.

Sorry to go a bit off-topic, but with regards to 757 power it made me wonder about reduced take-off thrust.. People say that you can't compare a/c take-off power because it is reduced, but I think full TOGA power is used when the runway is wet. Is this correct? Because if so, there should be good oppertunity to experience it in the UK despite what so many other people say about it being reduced?

This is rarely the case, they almost always reduce the thrust on take-off to a certain extent. Although a 757 reduced take-off is still very impressive to say the least! :D
