-Nice ones there. Where'd you go for the STN shots? It looks like somewhere along the South side near to the ex-FLS hangar. Did you have a car with you?

It was on the northside and you do need a car. From the old terminal entrance turn right and follow the road through the village and then after a mile you will see loads of cars parked on the right. From here you are opposite cargo and can see all movements. Police dont seem to mind everybody parking on the road.

That's the spot I've been to a couple of times in the past when I've been in the area.

Ah sorry I was under the impression they were on RWY23 today, that's why I was confused. I know where you were, I've never really tried that spot when they're on 05. I've been there whilst on 23 and it's useless, because the ground between where you stand and the runway is raised.
You don't need a car, it's what I got my bike for! :p ;)

-Don't worry im permanantly confused  .Sadly not much gets airbourne by the time that get to that spot, its just down to luck. Anything landing is easily graphable. It's just very muddy at the moment and being south facing would not be much good in the sun. Something that I did not see today. :( . But was a good day out . 37 RYR's in 3 hours and in the mid afternoon lul.
Also looks like G-IGOZ 737 won't be around much longer as it arrived in full Corendon.com scheme complete with Turkish flag and tape on G-.

Your best bet on a sunny day, is to head to the same spot later on in the afternoon (in the Summer). A good friend of mine discovered it was possible, with shots like this http://www.airliners.net/open.file/602629/L/
Did you get a shot of IGOZ? Any sighting of the Cable and Wireless FR?

-I was at that same spot a few Saturdays ago, and it's excellent for watching arrivals and departures.
However, it was early in the morning and the low sun did make photography nigh on impossible.

Sadly no as it turned off too short for a shot and went straight to the exFLS hangar. No sign of any special scheme RYR's, had hoped for the dreamliner. Still was a good day, will return for a day in the summer.

-Great pics there - especially like the SEN ones - note the B752 will be the first for delivery to Axis Airways of France. I presume the 3 Aussie HS748s are still airworthy?

So that's where it went .... don't expect much in the reliability section, Axis .... it goes tech every couple of days or so ... :diablo:
For those who now are curious: This is the 'kneeling' Transavia bird .. Impounded by lessor when ATA went Ch. 11.

-Southend is very cheap parking with goom maintenance companys. The 748's will probably be parted out?? I think they are owned by the same company who has slowly been stripping the 2 F27's? I think one was a nav trainer in Australia so is pretty non standard.
Also forgot that the Belfast rebuild seems to be taking shape but its parked out of the way and could find nowhere for some pics.
