-We got our headsets on, John explained a few vitals to me like not pulling on the stick to get a better seat position (lol)
A quick chat to the ground control and we were soon taxying away from the club and heading for the runway intersection. Watch out for that approaching landing screaming past bluuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

-We went out on 28 so that we could avoid a big weather front heading south across the 23 departure, easy in a big jet but perhaps a little unpleasant in a 2 seater ? :p
Soon we were headed up into the big blue yonder towards Dumbarton and Loch Lomond, eventually taking in Stirling and the Wallace Monument where we turned and headed back. :)

-As we headed back towards GLA, John called in with Glasgow Approach and made the necessary requests to come back in. It was tea time and the airport was busy with lot's of domestic flights coming in. Approach asked us to circuit over Erskine whilst a 757 landed on 23 ! :D
Nice views again up the River Clyde and the Erskine Bridge, hey that's my friend's street down there ! Can you see the cat in the back yard ? :D

-Once we crossed the 23 approach to line up for a 28 landing, GLA once again asked John to do a couple of circuits as there was quite a bit of landing traffic. We took it in turn to try and get visual contact with each of the jets we'd been told to avoid.
Great views over the Clyde shipyards and the old Renfrew Airport. That's Renfrew High School and the playground is built on the aprons surrounding the old Lockheed maintenance hangar. Some of the foundations can still be seen (from ground level).

-Eventually we were cleared to land and we aimed for 28 right into the sun. Not easy shooting through the canopy in those conditions. But a great time spent and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Once down it was time for a few hasty airside photos (ah.. no fence :p ) and then off up the road. :)
Cheers DME ! :D

Now that your wondering what the hell this is all about ?
I can tell you that DME (John) gave me a call last week and offered me the chance of a spin in one of the Glasgow Flying Club's Piper Tomahawks ! ;)
Not being one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I set off for GLA at the appointed check in time of quarter to five for a scheduled five o' clock departure from runway 28.
Unfortunately owing to weather conditions and ATC being a bit busy with the 'big boys' our intended slot was missed and we had to hold our position until about twenty past five.
First of all a few checks on fuel and flaps etc and it was soon time to squeeze ourselves into the cockpit...
