-All of iFDG's and POSKY's aircraft have wingviews.
Wingviews have to be modelled into the aircraft, so if the design group is crap or lazy they wont put wingviews into the aircraft.
You can change the wingviews by changing the '[eyepoint]" and "[viewpoint]" settings in the aircraft.cfg file. But i'm not sure how to do that..

-While you don't sepcify what sim version you're using, "wing view" can be of two ways.
If a model has a VC, what you see "out of the cockpit" (in 2D cockpit view) will be what has been modelled. (so long as you've ticked "see own plane" in flightsim preferences)
If a model does not have a VC, then the "wing views" are bitmaps called for by the panel.cfg.
Caveat: note that you can "override" what you see in the 2d cockpit view by adding bitmaps with the appropriate changes in the panel.cfg file.
Including, or not, a VC in the model does not imply that the design group or designer is "crap" or "lazy". THere are some very fine models out there without a VC, and whose fans do not mind, or may not care for, a VC.

-This is Flight Simulator 2004 and by wing view, I mean/meant that when I push numbers 4 and 6 on my number keypad, I get views of the whole of the wing, instead of pushing 1 and 3 to look back towards it.

LOL allthough its a new version, some people have decided just not to bother, tho by now, its standard with "newer" published aircraft

-You need a little program called Active Camera, just do a search for it, it used to be freeware but is now payware, not sure how much it is though.
The Payware aircraft on the market do not give you a wing view by default, PMDG, PSS, etc only view the back of the cockpit when pressing your NUMPAD keys, Active Camera should sort you out

-The "quick and dirty" is to replace/or create, in cockpit (2d panel view), your own "wing views" to correspond with the left (KP4) and right (KP6) view presses.

That's correct.
Basically, íf your model doesn't have a VC setup, then "what you see is what you draw"
IN the case where the VC is modelled, then I would not create the various bitmaps for those views.
If a VC is modelled, then the developer will create a VC using those bits and pieces that are actually seen from the "pilot's view" Example - If I create a DH 114 Heron where I will NOT be able to see the tail fin and rudder from the pilot's position, then I would normally not include those bits in the "VC" model, nor would I include the undercarriage, etc.
Caveat: being that there are ways to force-pan "outside" the normal pilot's position, then a modeller could include those parts.

Hi,
I'm after some decent aircraft with views over the wings, so you can get a better view from the cabin during takeoff and landing.
Can anyone recommend any aircraft or explain how I can change the settings of an aircraft, so that I can get the views I want?
