-Nice report Tom, sounds like you flew out via the Inveruie lane, probably the quickest route up North. It can get very turbulent in the local area when the wind gets above 15kts, especially towards the hills. Used to be a pain in the backside as often lessons were cancelled due to the wind - despite it being an otherwise glorious day.
I used to take lessons out of Aberdeen about 5 years ago - highly recommended. Had a great time both socially and learning to fly - just a pity I couldn't finish my training. The only unfortunate thing, is both of my instructors are no longer there, one flies for the same airline I work for and the other now flies for Easyjet.

-Thats the one - the Inverurie lane. Then I flew around the Turriff area.
Which airline do you work for?

Well I eventually got to do my trial flight today after having it cancelled twice. Arrived at 1 o clock and met my instructor Dave Mcferran. I was taking into a room and given my pre-flight briefing explaining to me all about how lift is achieved and what all the instruments do.
I went out to the aircraft I got in, its not that wide for two people to sit next to each other. Anyway we taxied out to the main runway and took off on runway 16. Take-off speed was 50 MPH or Knots. We did a sharp right turn for about 15 mins. After about 25 mins I flew over my house and we circled so that I could take a few photos. I was shown how to pitch, roll and yaw the aircraft. After about 30 mins we had to make our way back to Aberdeen airport. We flew the same way back and I even got to take control for about 15mins which was ace although we hit a bit of quite bad turbulence(well for an aircraft of that size anyway). Also it was getting so windy and turbulent that Dave said that he was going to cancel the next flight that he had as it wouldnt be very enjoyable for the people. We did a right angled turn and lined up for our touch down on the main runway. Just before we taxied in to the Flying Club, the instructor put full power on while our brakes were on just to check everything was running fine. I got out and had to help push it backwards into its parking stand.
Thoroughly enjoyable and It has given me the urge to book another lesson.
The only photos I got were of my house. Also I got this one while on our final approach at Aberdeen.
