With the plans for expansion at Stansted, will any new termianls/terminal extensions be designed for use by low cost airlines and have no/limited air bridge provision?

Also will more traditional full service airlines like El Al, Turkish, CSA Czech, Eastern, Malev, KTHY be concentrated on the existing terminal which might be more suited to their needs since it was built in the days when frills where far more common?

Thanks

Some interesting questions.

I guess they'll need a new terminal at some point soon with current expansion, but before then they'll need to lift the 25 million pax cap that exists currently. Once that is lifted, then it'll probably be a case of determining exactly how many more pax can operate from the current facilities. A terminal extension was completed a couple of years back, and it seems difficult for them to extend again since a hotel was built at the other end.

A new terminal would mean having to build right out into the country, which the BAA are still working for so that the second runway can be built. But whether any new facilities would be used for low-co's only, I'm really not sure. I guess it would make sense. But then about 5 years ago STN built a new satellite for Ryanair, which was nothing like the other satellites. It quickly became known as 'The Cattle-Shed', and within a year or two of complaints (including some from Ryanair) they had already decided to turn it into a proper satellite and it now fits in with the rest as the Delta satellite. So building facilities aimed directly at low-co's in this case didn't work.

all i know is, is that they will extend on the otherside of the terminal towards the new hotel, to make the arrivals area bigger, and a possabilty of extending the west side of the terminal again where they extendid before towards enterprise house, and will be desighned to fit in with the terminal, and if they get the premision to have the new runway they will build a new terminel, what it will be disinged like i havnt a clue, what i would like to know is will there be many new airlines to start soon, i go there quite often i have done ever since i was a little boy, i go right to the back of the runway near elsenham jam factory, but i sometimes get quite bored of seeing ryanair after ryanair and easy jet after easy tet, it would be nice to see more of a variatey, i know you get the air berlins german wings, el -al , cyprus airways, malev, chech, etc but it would be nice to see more, maybe it is becuase there would be to much compation there becuase of ryanair etc, but will there be a good selection of long houl flight soon, any one know
