-I guess they fould a way to make pigeon races more thrilling. Now, it is no more "when" will the pigeon arrive, it is "if" it will :D
Or wwas it an attempt to introduce in flight meals with Ryanair ? Pigeon à la CFM-56
Glad no human was hurt, though

But the question still remains.... will the pigeons arrive at their intended destination, or somewhere 50km away ?

-They now have been barred from releasing pigeons near the coast and have to go further inland to avoid airport arrivals. Was in a Southern Paper yesterday.

-Is this not an old story that crept up again on another forum? I remember reading about how they now used a mil chopper to 'track' the movement of mass pigeons.

-Anyone know what flight this was and whether it was 200 or 800?
Sounds to me like it could have been very nasty!

Something that quite obviously doesn't agree with racing/homing pigeons ;)

Yesterday, A ryanair plane carrying 103 passengers flew into a flock of around 21,000 racing pigeons  . Hundreds of birds got sucked into the turbines forcing one engine to completely shut down. This caused the pilot to return ack to Dublin Airport where he had just taken off, just minutes before. All 103 passengers arriveed back at dublin un-injured.
Lucky it wasn't far more serious!!!
