I didn't know the young chap, I don't frequent CA often, however when we are airing our views on issues on these forums as vehemently as we have been over the past few days, it takes something like this or Steve Young's loss to bring us back down to earth with one hell of a bump.

To you Ben, who I never knew:
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Although I cannot seem to recall any posts made by him it is very sad indeed to hear of this tragic death. Such a waste of life and from reading this thread it seems he had a very good life ahead of him :( Thoughts go to the family.

There are no words.
I'd like to echo sandy's comment and I'm sure Ben will have no better guide than Steve. They're probably discussing PA28's already.
My sincere condolences to Ben's family, friends and those that knew him through the forum.
Regards,
