Hi

Been told by a reliable sorce that Jet2 plan to Axe there 3 times daily Manchester services to Amsterdam & Edinburgh as of End of January 2006. (This is the reasoning behind no seats on sale after these dates on the website)

Am not surprised they are dropping EDI, but AMS is a surprising one.

Wish they would start somewhere like GLA or EDI from LBA, but doubt it after their experience from MAN.

I wonder what they'll replace the MAN route with at EDI!? Hopefully they won't go back to having the aircraft sitting on the cargo ramp all day.

My flight back from MAN in August was probably about 50% full if I remember rightly. (right Matt? )

I flew MAN-LGW back in Feb, 2 weeks after the service started, no more than 30 on the southblound leg, and 21 on the northbound leg.

I'm sure its a different story now :)

The plan at the moment is to discontinue MAN-EDI and possibly MAN-AMS, MAN-LGW to free up aircraft for the Blackpool expansion.

So more to come at BLK then? But if the MAN-EDI aircraft is an EDI based cargo aircraft, how can that be moved to BLK unless Channel Express have lost the cargo contract?

I imagine Channex could quite easily bring their own cargo 737 into EDI, Who knows if there will be more to come from, BLK in the short term, I imagine Jet2 to require 2 a/c at BLK at 1st?

I take it the EDI aircraft is a quick change aircraft, so surely it would be wasted at BLK?

Well maybe the QC aircraft will be deployed somewhere else, they might have a reshuffle of the fleet?

Im sure Jet2 know what they are doing.

Flyglobespan are ending their agreement with Channex at the end of the summer season, which means that G-CELR, a QC, will be released from it's duties at Flyglobespan. So that'll then be looking for something to do, possibly begin ops for Jet2?

Maybe its a case of launching services from Blackpool they would be a big fish in a small pool scenario as apposed to MAN

Wrong about AMS then, still waiting to see about EDI...
