Is there a website that has a full list of airworthy Venom's and Vampire's in the world, plus those that could be rebuilt to fly ?

Thanks for any help.

In a word, no there isnt.

Of course, anything could be rebuilt to fly - its a matter of how much money one throws at it. Realistically, it is probably fair to say that owing to current values, it is unlikely that any Vampire/Venom that is not currently airworthy, or has been airworthy in the past 5 or so years will be made flyable again. There are some exceptins, such as the Judy Pay aeroplanes, but I suspect not many!

We currently have Vampire T.55 G-HELV and Venom F.50 G-DHVM (ex G-GONE) airworthy at Coventry. We also have Venoms J-1629 and J-1649 stored. There are no immediate plans to put them back together but its not out of the question should the need arise.

The Source Classic Jet Flight aeroplanes are in open store at Bournemouth.
There are two Vampires airworthy on the field, the Vampire Preservation Society T.11 WZ507 G-VTII and de-Havilland Aviation's T.11 XE920.
There is also a FB.9 Vampire under rebuild there as well.

Therefore any generous sponsorship deals for a formation team comprised entirely of small de Havilland jets should be sent to....

Is there not another Vampire (albeit in much further from airworthy condition) over in the shed Tom?

On this topic can anyone confirm that John Travolta once owned/flew a Vampire and it's identity, current location and condition?

Roger Smith.

He certainly did own / fly a Vamp, but I don't recall the ID.

Swedish Vampire

Here's proof that a Vampire was flying in Sweden (at Halmstad) in 2004 . . .

Yes, JT used to own and fly a Vampire F3, ex RCAF. It moved on some years ago, and we established recently that it is currently the oldest airworthy jet aeroplane.

There is a flying Vampire based at Hinckley Field (formerly the Ogden Municipal Airport) in Ogden, Utah, USA. I don't know the airframe numbers or owner, but have seen it many times.

The SAAF Museum in South Africa has one flying and a couple in storage. In fact it should have been flown by Glen Warden yesterday at Makhado AFB.

Didn't Tim Manna restore a Vamp (and a venom?) to go with his Meat-box?

I think he sold the Meteor (and a Scout) to fund the Seafire and Gannet?

Tim Manna did restore a Venom, G-VENM, which is flying. John Beattie has been flying it on the airshow circuit for the last few years. He never did a Vampire.

As for selling the Meteor and/or Scout to "fund" the Seafire, I don't think so.

He did own this Vampire, but if he ever flew it himself I don't know!

The Warbirds of Norway operates this Vampire here in Oslo as LN-JET.

There used to be, but it was a pod only and was sold on apparently. The list Jon sent me of all the stuff stored over at CFS has it listed as G-DHYY. Anyone know where it is now?

I believe it was bought from Don Wood with the Venom spares ships. As a source of spares it isnt the best; when I saw it it was almost totally stripped out! It was a complete airframe, albeit rather naked!

Andrew,

How are you getting on with it - it must be almost a year since you acquired it! I had a look at its sister ship again the other day. Tempting...!
