Hello all,

Wondered why the 757 wasn't in at LBA all day, now i know!

According to the LBA Yahoo group, it has gone tech at MME, problem with the thrust reversers! Good start..

I never even noticed it..

Since it arrived it's been sat there with white airstairs on it.

I saw the Boeing 757-200 depart on Tuesday 11th October from LBA. I guess that it was going to Tenerife as there were lots of passengers on it. It departed at 16.00.
A bit off topic but still regarding Jet2, on Friday 14th October, I was at LBA and I saw a Boeing 737 of Jet2 abort a take-off roll. It taxed back to the terminal and departed 3 hours late. As far as i'm aware it was operating the Palma flight.
Does anyone know what the problem was?

The 757 departure would have indeed been to TFS at that time, no idea what happened with the 737!

G-LSAA is broken at MME due to reverser problems, it has made a mess on the apron as its blown its hydraulic fluid all over the shop. This has happened twice so it looks like they have bought a shed!!!-buy cheap goods and take the consequences, theres a reason why it has been stood in the deset for 18 months!!

Have Jet2 bought a dud? Whats the chances of this plane costing them a bomb, lets hope G-LSAB does not have the same unreliability.

Exactly my thoughts...

This is not very encouraging at all. It's embarassing.

At least it hasn't happened in commercial service (yet...), it did fly for one of the dodgiest looking charter airlines around (Flyair), but you would think with a major overhaul it would be ok. Apparantly it also has corrosion problems.

Hello Guys....

I eventually got to speak to my contact last night for the first time in a while...

G-LSAA has not yet done a TFS flight due to a number of different reasons. As said before they flew it to MME for a training flight and it went tech there so they once again used two 733's for the TFS run.

As LBARULES said G-LSAA was due to run a Amsterdam and a Palma flight yesterday.

This was due to I think he said G-CELC is stuck I think he said in Palma. A bagage handling truck ran into it and damaged the engine cowling. G-LSAA was due to fly an engine cowling out to replace and did indeed do so. The problem was it was the wrong engine cowling so G-CELC is still stuck out there....

He also tells me that when getting G-LSAA ready for service they have stripped quite a few parts from G-LSAB. This may mean a longer wait for AB's arrival...

This is all the info I got.... Cheers

LBARULES if you look on LBASPOTTERS website then you should see the plans that Jet2 have for G-LSAA..... It is to be used everyday... Nott sure a good idea with the teething issues so far but we will see.... Problem Jet2 have is if LSAA goes tech it takes two of there other fleet to sub for it.... Until LSAB is ready... God knows what that is going to do!!! LOL

Robertt, couldn't be 100% but I think someone will confirm... I don't think LSAA has done any TFS runs yet... We had Titan 752 but that is the only 752 to do that run for jet2 i believe.

It has been reported that G-CLEV and G-CELS have had some engine work done to allow direct TFS flights.... This is due to G-LSAA only running the TUE and FRI TFS flights and the other been covered by 733's..... Apparently this will allow full PAX and fuel off LBA direct to TFS....

Hi guys

G-LSAA has just returned to LBA again @ 12:00GMT from Teeside as the Channex 001T. All accounts it left LBA about 10ish to do some crew tranining up at MME before it operates todays Tenerife flight.

Just checked - LSAA operated LBA-TFS-LBA on Tuesday 11th October. This was its first revenue earning service. It then did PMI and AMS on Sunday and has done LBA-TFS-LBA again today.

By the way, any B2 powered 733 will be able to do LBA-TFS direct without any problem so long as the temp isn't v.high or strong headwinds on route.

Jet2 have G-CELA, B, C, D, J, K, S, U, V, X upgraded to B2 power. Not all of them have be licensed with MTOWs above 60tonnes so that might be why they have to pick and choose which one goes to TFS.
