I think there are one or two memebers of the forum in or near Frankfurt, so thought you may like to know that the A380 will make its first appearance with you on 29th October, to park at Terminal 2, if you fancy seeing it that is.

What time will it arrive and depart? If it is sometime mid-day it might be worthwhile to drive over from NL, otherwise I'll wait for it to come to AMS.

I am hoping it will make a stop in Toronto on its way to northern Canada to complete its cold weather trials. Although, this could be unlikely!

Taken from www.rmas.de (EDFF spotters site) and translated by BabelFish:

Short info.: A-380 in Frankfurt. The prototype of the A-380 will land to 29.10.2005 in Frankfurt to test purposes. The landing is to take place approximately against 9:00 o'clock. Takeoff on Sunday at 8:00 o'clock the park position E9 was already marked for this machine. The airport apparent counts on a large visitor attack. As per statements press speakers of the Fraport could be concluded even on this day the public gallery from "safety reasons".

Or in plain english, the observation platform will remain closed. Nonetheless a large crowd is expected.

Baring that in mind (and the early ETA) I will stay here. It is rumoured the A380 will go to AMS too so I will get it there with a better view no doubt.
