-Jet2.com are Not that short of aircaft up at LBA
At the moment 5 Aircraft are required for the daily jet2 flying program at LBA. Jet2 currently have 8 Based B737-300 and 1, B757-200 based At LBA. So Most of the time 4 Aircraft a sat still all day now at LBA. This changes soon when the new flights to Chambery and Geneva start. Then LBA requires up to 7 operating aircraft and only 2 spare aircraft.
There's some bad weather up here tonight as well. There is a gusting wind which is making for a bad tail wind along with the driving rain on the final approach. Aircraft are making approaches to 32 & 14. Everytime the runway changes round the ILS system has to be swung round as well. Sometime this can take upto 5/10 mins and causes delays. Aircraft are put up into the LBA Hold.

-Appreciate the weather - live 20 mins from airport!!
Doesnt account for 3 hour delay which appears to be caused by waiting from a later arriving aircraft to substitute.
Has happened a few times over last couple of weeks

-Hi
I have been informed from personnel at LBA that Jet2 have found a big
crack in One of the aircrafts wings on there newly aquired Boeing 757-
200 G-LSAA.
Can anyone else confirm this??
If it is true the aircraft be gounded again. So i guess Jet2 will have
to get there second B757-200 G-LSAB in service soon. Or this will
leave jet2 in a situation where they are going to need to send 2 B737-
300 on all B757-200 flights. Or they are going to have to out sorce
another aircraft from someone else. Eg Titan B757's again.
Saying that, There is 2 B757-200 off My Travel parked up retired from
service at Manchester. G-PIDS & G-RJGR.

Is the aircraft really that banged up?!

-What a nightmare this 757 has been so far, I really hope this isnt true, mind you it seems to be sat around doing nothing all day anyway!
Maybe Jet2 might be interested in PIDS/RJGR in the short term, though they really are knackered now!

-Jet 2's 757 LSAA is operating fine, just a bit noisey apparently inside the cabin! Philip Meeson visited Arizona this week and has apparently purchased another four 757. Cyprus should be announced soon and Jet2 is still considering LBA New York.

-You could say the My Travel birds are knackered but I would say well used - they are still airwothy, I would prefer to buy two planes staight off an airline of high maintenance standards than drag two from the desert.
This really is a nightmare but hopefully it is just teething troubles that happen to the best in the game, don't you all have teething trouble when purchasing a brand new car.

You have to remember that Jet2 have bought a lot of their aircraft for peanuts, I'm sure that MYT would want a reasonable amount of money for their aircraft.

From what I understand CO are still weighing it up but from what I know Jet2 are more serious about that route at present.

It hasn't been to Barcelona yet. The only places its been have been to Tenerife and for crew training to Palma and Amsterdam and of course its unlucky trip to Teeside!

Are Jet2 an aircraft down at LBA. Seem to be having a lot of delays and substitutions recently. Malaga today very late?
