-Registrations run in a sequence esentially from G-AAAA to G-ZZZZ UNLESS an out of sequence registration has been passed. Last time I looked the sequenced registrations had passed the G-CB?? sequence. This would rule out the G-BMI sequence as it would have been surpassed many moons ago. Not quite sure of the seqnificance of G-DBC* though! Previously they had used G-OBM* and the current A320 series being G-MID*.
Embraers (Regional Jets) were also G-RJX*, and the SABB 340s G-GNT* (GNT "Granite" being the callsign of Aberdeens Buisness Air whose aircraft had been operated under the British Midland Commuter Banner).

-Every other reg makes sense apart from the G-DBC* series. I cant recall ever seeing an explanation for it, and I've seen some pretty weird reasoning for aircraft registrations!

-What does the WWB* on the A330s stand for?

-British Midland decided about the time they ordered the 330s that they were going to use the two letter code WW for WorldWide and utilise that as a brand. Then they decided to rebrand as bmi instead, and the WW code transferred to bmi Baby, however the 330 registrations were already allocated so they kept the WW sequence for them.

Is there any particular reason why bmi reserved the G-DBC* series of registrations for their A319 fleet? Why would this have been choosen over the like of G-BMI*? Cheers...
