Inflight Amenity Kits

Which airline, in your opinion, provides passengers in Economy Class with the best inflight amenity kits?

I was surprised by what Virgin Atlantic offered. On each of the flights, the bag was different - outbound was a pink swimbag type thing with a pair of socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, pen, paper, earplugs and so on. On the return flight, it was a blue pencil case with the same bits inside.

I was also amazed by what Qatar Airways offers its passengers. Considering that most of their flights are medium haul, what they give to their economy class passengers is quite good. A small grey bag with the oryx logo on it and a thin shoulder strap. Inside is the same as VS but they give you headphones, too!

EVA offered nothing except for a pair of disposable slippers. Eye patches are available upon request. In Evergreen Deluxe (now called something a little better on the 777s), the kit was disappointing. A very small green bag with a pair of socks, an eye patch and some other bits of tat. It wasn't half as good as Virgin's economy kit.

Had a very nice American Airlines one on my 1st flight with them back in 1997, it was an all leather bag, with AA embroydered on it. I've still got it in my bedroom actaully!

Now :- Not sure, bmi's not too bad, bright bag, with the usual amieneties in it.

I bet AA can't even afford a toothbrush now.

I wouldn't be so amazed, Qatar Airways has money like there is no tommorow. They can afford to do fancy amenity kits in Economy as they are not short of it. ;)

So yes I guess one of the "loaded" Gulf airlines probably have the best.

I can confirm that AA doesn't give anything. All that is provided is headsets. On my last flght, they changed to button type uncomfortable ones. Reminds me to take my own next time ;)

I remember on TAP JFK to LIS flight in 1990 they had single use toothbrushes in each of the First Class Lav's, in addition to the one that came in the First Class kit.

Air France only offered an eyeshade + headsets (useless ones at that)

Virgin is probably the best at that.

The fact that they offer cheaper fares than just about any other airline and a far superior amenity kit to many other airlines (bearing in mind that some don't give anything at all), I think that's amazing enough.

I personally thought the BA Club World was the best I'd seen, when it had the Molten Brown stuff in it.

Didn't rate Virgin's plastic bag offering at all.

Worst I ever had was Gulf Air which consisted of some tatty eye shades and a vile pair of socks.
