-cloud_9,
I think its a great idea, BUT.... (didn't you just know there would be a BUT)...
Its probably too late to start work on a 2006 calendar now, certainly its too late if you want to sell any commercially or do anything other than sell/give away a few to friends. As an indication, another aviation photography business/website I'm involved in has just received a major order for images for a 2007 calendar. OK, so some calendars work to shorter deadlines than that, but we researched the idea a year or so back and found that even September was too late and that typically calendars that are going to be sold in any sort of numbers have to be sorted and into print (if not actually on the market) by August at the latest - by Christmas, which is less than five weeks away, most folks have acquired whatever calendars they really need and the market reverts to discounted selling to get rid of excess stock.
If on the other hand your idea is just to have someone like PhotoBox make up a few calendars and either give them away or sell them to a friends, then 2006 is probably still achievable (but even with that, you need to get a move on as the new year is only just six weeks away and by Christmas typically everyone has calendars).

-I received the Boeing 06 calendar in the post the other day. It's not bad, although I wish they would have released a pure Civil Aviation one though. Their 06 is understandably mixed with defence/space/civil etc

Thanks for all your comments...
I was basically thinking that people would submit images, and I could then produce a calender of them...? Obviously those that had images produced in the calender would be entitled to a 'free' copy of it...!
However, I made an enquiry at a photo shop earlier today, and they wanted to charge me £25 per calender produced, which I am sure no-one is prepared to pay, so forget the idea for now, may well do one for 2007!

Dear all,
I am thinking of producing a 2006 calender of commerical airliners as I am amazed at the relatively small collection that are currently avaliable (compared to the number of car/train/boat ones!) and was wondering whether anyone thinks this is a good idea and if so, would you be interested in submitting photos to go in it...
Regards,
