Hi

Today whilst out around about 13:00 a First Choice 767-300 fly over our house and i didnt know why it was flying over as there was no delayed long-haul flight, altough ive just realised i saw there new 767-300, Reg G-OOBM, arriving from Abu Dhabi.

So theres another 767-300 to add to there fleet!

G-OOBM (c/n 27568) is the last of a batch of 3 ex Vietnam Airlines 763's to be delivered.

G-OOBK - ex VN-A762
G-OOBL - ex VN-A764
G-OOBM - ex VN-A765

Not sure if HVN are looking at off loading their last two 76's.

These 767s, are they to tide them over untill the 787s arrive? Certainly seems so to me.

Indeed they are Sandy. I had the pleasure of working with FCA, through the ground handling agency that covered their ground operations, during summer last year. According to the supervisor that I got to know, and their website (http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/info/aboutus/flightspress.html), they have signed a letter of intent with Boeing for six 787's and are the first charter airline in Europe to do so. It is due to come into service to replace the 767's in 2009.

think they're also intended to replace the ex-Leisure machines which I presume were leased, and to allow for the tour operator's long haul expansion.

The 767's are not going to be replaced as such, they will most likely be operated on medium haul routes that are popular.

Well I have not heard anything about that...however, if they did do as you say, they would proabably use them on their Cyprus routes, as these are scheduled services (DP, not FCA code!)
