-Good to see Air Berlin expanding - shame about GSM but then they are prinicpally a Scottish carrier.

-Flyglobespan haven't pulled out completely though, they will still be operating TFS and ATH from STN this summer.

GLA-STN is getting dropped from the end of Feb, EDI-STN from the end of March. Yep, STN will be one of the airports to feature in their long haul plans too.

Common sense? If the routes aren't selling there's no point in operating them and losing money.

-Remember although they are dropping routes they are also starting new ones - so it's not all bad - it's a question of finding the most profitable routes to generate as much profit as possible from each aircaft.

Bit of a shock. Sounds to me like they can't compete with Easyjet on those routes. Still, Ryanair get a bit of free publicity. :)
