Would you invest in aviation or just your own personal plane? :diablo:

I always imagined that if I won on a normal week, I'd buy myself a nice new Cessna 182, Piper Archer, something like that to fly at weekends... As the money's gone up, I've moved myself up firstly to a Cirrus SR-22, and now I think I'll go for a Citation if I win this week - I won't need to fly it myself if I win $100m, so the fact that I haven't got a multi-rating will be irrelevent! ;)

Other than that, I think I might start myself an airline if I won - I'll call it Alpha Too! :)

As Richard Branson once said...

"How do you become a millionaire? Start off as a multi-millionaire then set up an airline."

Personally I'd probably buy a boat.

With £100m in YOUR bank account, does it matter if your wife really reads it? :D

How much are BBJ3's going for these days? I'd quite like one of those or if I was patient I'd let my money build up so I could get a 2nd hand 742 as I doubt there'd be any 744's in my price range.

Oh, a classical joke...

A woman calls her husband: "I just won a lottery! Start packing!"
Husband: "Excellent! What shall I pack, skis or beach clothes?"
Wife: "Everything! Be gone from my home by evening!"

What do wives cost in England? And what do babes cost? I mean, if you won £100 millions and walked out on your wife, how much would she get, and how much would you be left with? Or if you get a babe, and the next morning or next month or next year she walks away with someone in her belly, yours as she alleges, how much would she get if you happen to have £100 millions?

Are wives and babes prohibitely expensive no matter how much money you have, or do they have a fixed price in England so if you are rich, you can afford many of them?

Anyway, as for ladies aboard... that would suggest a plane wide enough for a real bed, at a minimum something like Falcon 900/2000/7X, or Bombardier Global Express or a big Gulfstream... (what are their costs like? Quite high...) But I suppose that joining the Mile High Club while at controls is dangerous both for male and for female pilots, not only because of distractions, but due to obstacles like pilot seats and harnesses... so it would be better to have pilots flying the plane safely while spending time with a lady back in the cabin.

Of course, if the lady in question is untrustworthy, she might get out of bed when you fall asleep, and slink to visit the pilots in forward lavatory or back of cockpit, so choosing lady pilots would make sure you are the only male aboard... Quite apart from distrusting her, generally there would be the question of proper attire in airplane cabin, it could be simply awkward to have professional men pilots visiting the cabin to get to lavatory or have their meals having to deal with passengers in states of undress.

But anyway... you might prefer keep your existing wife... even then, it would be a question of dealing with profesionals. If you can get domestic servants and relieve your wife of her household chores, who would you prefer walking around cleaning your bedroom, serving morning coffee to your marital bed and bathtub, walking in on you and your wife/babe in various states of undress - male butlers and valets, or female maids?

Simple answer is...Dont tell the wife you've won..Put the money in a nice anonymous swiss bank account, then divorce the wife..and then you wont have to give away half...

if i won the £100million, then i wouldnt buy a private jet..just fly everywhere first class, buy a house in Tasmania and another in the French Alps, so i can get some good ski-ing in. probably a decent car (not a ferrari or Lambo) and do my PPL (H) for fun

I would buy a plane for preservation. I would like to see a Carvair back in the UK, I would also like to reconstruct the Hermes at Duxford. A more realistic plan might be to buy an airworthy HS748, repaint it in Skyways, Autair or Channel Airways colours & find someone to fly it around the airshow circuit.

Like I said at airliners.net,

first I would go to a camera store that ripped me off, and order the most elaborate set-up they have ever seen. Then I will ask them to send it to another franchise holder in their chain and I will pick it up there... and pay it there too! I do intend to make a picture of their face when that happens. ;)

To stay on topic, I would probably get myself a small place. And of course I would try to get a pilot license.

If I won Euromillions (I haven't bought a ticket yet!)...

1. Pay off student debts (£20,000+)
2. Donate £10 million to charities (proabably Cancer Research and Oxfam!)
3. Buy a house in the UK
4. Find an uninhabited tropical island and build a house on it.
5. Buy a car
6. Charter a 747-400 and take all my family, friends, relatives and forum members on a round world trip!
7. Put £20 million in a trust fund for any future children/grand children that I may have

...and I can't think of anything else at the moment, so I would leave the rest in the bank!

[QUOTE=cloud_9]If I won Euromillions (I haven't bought a ticket yet!)...

=QUOTE]
Ive bought two tickets.
I would also donate a large some of money to two charities and they are the MS society and Sue Ryder care (Wheatfields). These are two charities that my grandma supports.
Also I'd buy myself a car (I'm learning to drive at the moment), probably something like Aston Marting DB7. Also i'd buy a some houses as I would like to be able to visit other countries. I'd give some to my parents and sister, and other family aswell as friends.
Id like to do my PPL and learn to become a pilot aswell, and maybe buy a plane such as a Beechcraft super king air.
Other than that, I'd just generally live the life of luxury.
Good Luck to everyone thats bought tickets.
