Dedicated to the one F-15 variant where you actually see some decent paint jobs (even though they are temporary..but it at least beats the dark grey, and grey camou paint scheme you see everyone and his mother use.. except the Israeli's, but they're cool like that)..

Original post

I second that notion, the japanese certainly have the best Eagle painjobs! Attached is a rather small (but larger than yours) pic of what I believe is the F-15 in the thumbnail. I agree that this is one of the coolest of the cool schemes because it is actually on a F-15J - seems only the DJ's usually get the agressor schemes. The other one is my second favourite japanese paintjob, unfortunately I couldn't locate a photo of the real aircraft (there were two actually, there's a pic with both of them in formation) :(

They operate a quite of number of F-15s in aggressor squadron. A lot of them have different color jobs.

AFAIK, and correct me if I'm wrong:
The camo pattern on each JASDF Aggressor F-15 is unique.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the cafe-au-lait camo pattern on IDFAF aircraft, and prefer, for example, the sand-and-brown camo pattern on a few A-10s back in Desert Shield/Storm, or the other desert camo pattern on IIAF/IRIAF aircraft.

In the list of JASDF F-15J/DJ tail numbers at
http://home.wanadoo.nl/patricknieuwkamp/jasdf_act.html
look for the ones that belong to the "HIKO KYODOTAI".

The official site of Nyuutabaru AB, Miyazaki Prefecture, where the Hikou Kyoudoutai (Aggressors) are based, at
http://www.jda.go.jp/jasdf/nyutabaru/
doesn't seem to have many photos of the Aggressors' F-15DJ.

A personal site at
http://www.ma.ccnw.ne.jp/bunbun/new_page_2.htm
has a few.

Another personal site at
http://homepage2.nifty.com/yoyotoru/jasdff15.html
has a few more, with serial numbers. If your browser can't properly display Japanese fonts, look for the F-15J and F-15DJ photos beside the cobra emblem.

Another personal site at

has a few more, with serial numbers.

No problemo, dude.
Just a military aviation fan assisting fellow military aviation fans.
Personally, I'm awaiting news of operational F-2A/B accidents.

I agree, the JASDF has some fantastic schemes on all it's aircraft.

I wish the USAF would adopt some more imaginative finishes....
