I had a go at a pre-assigned flight last night from LHR-OLY (737-400), but it starts with the aircraft parked at the gate.

1. Do I have to reverse the aircraft back?

If so how...?

If not, how do I get 'push-back'?

2. How can I accurately follow the taxiways without having to swerve around the corners...?

What speed is the usual taxiway speed?

How can I keep the aircraft at this speed?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Many thanks in advance.

Hiya, for pushback use SHIFT + P to pushback then SHIFT + P to stop pushback. For turning try gentle arcing movements around the corners, remember on aircraft like the 757 the nose wheel is well behind the cockpit.

In addition, on pushback you can press either 1 or 2 (not the number pad buttons) after SHIFT + P to turn the aircraft either left/right respectively.

When I taxi, I use top-down view so I can follow the centre line a lot easier and so I can accurately line-up with the runway.

Default speeds in FS9 are (I think) 17kts on the taxiways and 20kts on the runways - that's the speed the AI traffic travels at.

Ok, sorry, forgot to mention I only have FS2002, any difference at all?

And for some reason I can't seem to take the 747-400 off from Heathrow, even using the auto-pilot. I select the required altitude, and then put full throttle on once clearence is granted and the plane tries to take off but just stays sticking up in the air, but travels along the ground (if that makes any sense?)

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Are your Trim and Flaps set correctly?

You should be able to rotate the 744 EASILY from LHR.
